Long-time CCTC associate Dick Caspermeyer retires.

Richard “Dick” Caspermeyer has announced his retirement after nearly 28 years with the trust company, most recently as Executive Vice President and Manager of Trust Administration.
Reflecting on how his career began, Dick said: “In 1982 I was graduating from Washburn Law School and asked a classmate what he was going to do after graduation. He said he was going back to Georgia to work in the trust department of his father’s bank. It sounded interesting. I did not think I was made to work in a law firm, so I took the trust administration approach and started at UMB in 1982.
In retirement, Dick joked that he plans to get “the band back together.” After acknowledging that he is just kidding, he said he plans to do “six months of nothing” and then assess his options. He hopes to do something that benefits those who are in need.
As he leaves CCTC, Dick offers some advice on achieving success and fulfillment. “Stay focused on relationships—it takes time to build them,” he said. “Develop a good knowledge of clients as people. Show them you care and work to exceed their expectations. Keep making deposits to the emotional bank account you have with them.”
