What do you do at Country Club Bank?

As the SVP of Loan Operations, I oversee loan operations and the commercial loan administrators. These teams of talented individuals and I work closely with our lending, credit, deposit and compliance partners to operationally uphold the accuracy, efficiency and integrity of the bank.

How did you get into banking?

My sister worked at a local bank in our hometown and suggested I join her there while attending college. I started out as a teller at a satellite location. During my time with the bank, I was able to transfer to two different locations, eventually settling in the Kansas City area. After about 15 years, I looked for a change and joined the lending side.

What drew you to CCB?

Having experienced an acquisition prior to the Bank of the Prairie/Country Club Bank merger, I remained patient and optimistic. Although I knew the role I had at the time was not available with the new bank, I recognized opportunities that could be gained by joining a larger organization and the positives that came with joining a family-owned bank. There is a special authenticity embedded in the organization that associates and the community feel.

How have you been able to advance your career at CCB?

My previous managerial and operational experience prepared me to lead the loan administrators and eventually the loan operations team. I engage in ongoing education and development, continue to strengthen my relationships and connections within the banking industry, am receptive to guidance and feedback and learn from the mistakes I make along the way.

What advice would you give other CCB associates about advancing within the bank?

I have found that learning across departments and building strong relationships is not only valuable to yourself but is also valuable to the organization. Staying open to guidance and opportunities will broaden your knowledge and experiences in the industry.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I enjoy vacationing with my family, reading books, listening to podcasts and thrifting.

Do you belong to any community or professional organizations? If so, why are you interested in them?

Last December, my 15-year-old son lost a friend and teammate of many years to suicide. I quickly became involved in supporting and advocating for an organization called Fight Club, which helps high school students cope with challenges they face in their young lives from a peer-to-peer support perspective. This has been a tremendous help to the boys in our community as they continue to grieve.  http://fightclub-us.com/
