38th Annual Going the Distance for Brain Injury Run
The 38th Annual Going the Distance for Brain Injury Run will take place on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26. All proceeds from the run go towards providing resources and support for brain injury survivors in Kansas and Greater Kansas City.
Country Club Bank has a long history with this run. The first one was held in 1988 in honor of Amy Thompson. You can sign up for the run or volunteer!
When you sign up for either the 5K or 10K run, use this code for a free entry:
CountryClub25.
To volunteer, visit the race website and choose the tasks you’d like to assist with—packet pickup, distributing water or serving as a course monitor. Volunteers will receive a volunteer t-shirt and more information for their tasks once they sign up. Please note that volunteering for this race is not VTO eligible.
Heroes for Hospice Run
The Heroes for Hospice 5K Run/Walk will take place Saturday, June 7. Proceeds support hospice and palliative care for those at Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care and Midland Care Hospice of Topeka and Lawrence.
You can get involved by participating in the race or by volunteering.
When you sign up to run or walk, use the following code for a free entry: ccb.
Want to be part of the race-day excitement without breaking a sweat? Volunteer for packet pickup on June 6 at the Running Well Store, 6009 Johnson Drive, Mission, KS. You’ll help hand out race packets and shirts, and get things off to a great start! Please note that Friday’s packet pickup is VTO eligible—but race-day volunteering is not.
On Display—and Just Hit Play!
In last month’s newsletter, we introduced you to Sheron Smith, our second-quarter featured artist, who uses acrylics to paint abstracts and to capture the essence of Kansas City’s historic jazz clubs and architecture. Sheron’s work is now on display in the BGT Lobby at 1 Ward Parkway. Please stop by to enjoy it.
You can also listen to a recent episode of “Banking on KC,” in which she explains the inspiration behind her paintings, her painting process and the challenge of balancing the business and the creative sides of her artistic endeavors.

Celebrating Excellence at the 2024 CCB Spirit Celebration
On April 3, associates gathered at 1 Ward Parkway for the annual CCB Spirit Celebration, an event dedicated to recognizing the accomplishments of our Consumer Banking and Commercial Lending teams.
The evening featured prize drawings, entertainment and great food, including giveaways like movie tickets. The Harrisonville Financial Center was recognized for donning the most creative costumes, earning that team a pizza party!
Congratulations to all the teams and individuals who were honored! We were proud to celebrate your success!
