One City Cafe at Bishop Sullivan Center, September 12, 8:45 a.m.-1 p.m.

One City Café, 3936 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri, welcomes the community for a delicious, healthy lunch and dinner every weekday. Anyone who is hungry and in need of a good, hot meal can stop in for a nice meal served in a spacious dining room.

We are looking for five volunteers to help prepare the lunch meal and serve it with a smile. Be part of our team to make sure all are welcomed and served with dignity.

The Battle Within: Home Run Derby & Wiffle Challenge, September 15, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. shifts available

Team CCB can help out in several ways at this local charity wiffle challenge and home run derby that supports The Battle Within. The Battle Within is a nonprofit organization that helps veterans and first responders who have suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder.

The event will be held at the George Toma Field at The Hollow, 239 West 52nd Street, Kansas City, Missouri. These shifts will focus on setup tasks, such as preparing the venue, arranging tables, stocking coolers, etc.

Thelma's Kitchen, September 20, 8 a.m.-noon

We are looking for 10 associates to help serve lunch to members of our community at Kansas City’s first “Donate-What-You-Can” community cafe, where everyone is offered a locally sourced, healthy meal regardless of their ability to pay.

KC Pet Project, September 28, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.

Lend a helping paw! Get involved at the shelter by helping to improve the mental and physical health of shelter pets. Volunteer opportunities include light landscaping, making enrichment treats, sanitizing transport carriers, helping the Canine Care team, and many other organizational needs.

All visits include a facility tour in which KC Pet Project shares its history, its impact on the community (and beyond), how everyone can make a difference in the lives of Kansas City’s animals and, of course, an opportunity to see the adorable animals waiting for their new families.

There are 15 volunteer slots available. Please note that we will not be able to walk dogs or socialize with cats because this requires further training; however, our visit will conclude spending time with one of the adoptable dogs!

Hope Haven of Cass County: Heroes of Hope Breakfast, October 10, 6:45-10 a.m.

Hope Haven provides safe shelter, concentrated supportive services, community resources and education to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

We are looking for 14-20 volunteers to help set up and assist with the breakfast, which will be held at The Stanley Event Space, 308 SE Douglas Street, Lee's Summit, Missouri.
