Stuart Hightower, Municipal Trading Assistant, Capital Markets Group

Years of Service: 21

When did your career begin?

I was 17 years old and a senior in high school when I went to work part-time for a small investment firm in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, in 1977. I started in the mail room and was also the messenger.

What are your next adventures?

My wife and I plan to travel, camp in our RV, and care for our two dogs, Gidget and Lincoln.

What advice do you have for other CCB associates?

Have a plan and work hard.

Sue Shultz, Vice President, Compliance Officer

Years of Service: 44

How/when did your career begin?

I began my career in May 1981 as a part-time teller. I have literally worked in every area of the bank. I had no intention of a career in banking, but 44 years later, here we are.

What are your next adventures?

I don’t really have any exciting adventures planned yet. My husband is already retired, so I guess we’ll just see what kind of trouble we can get ourselves into.

What advice do you have for other CCB associates?

Be a sponge. Try to absorb as much knowledge as you can. Try to understand how your job and your performance affect others. I've always said that I was a better teller because I ran proof and that I was a better proof operator because I was a teller. I understood how my actions in one area affected the other. In the words of Byron Thompson, “Did you do it, or did you do it well?”

Thanks to you both for your years of dedication and hard work. We wish you joy in the adventures that lie ahead!
