Each year the Kansas City Business Journal honors 25 entrepreneurs, executives and professionals leading their organizations and the community into the future. In May, PJ Thompson, Country Club Bank’s CFO, was selected to the 2023 NextGen Leaders class.

The NextGen Leaders program introduces rising leaders to other high achievers in previous NextGen classes and to the larger business community. The honorees were selected by a panel of six judges from a pool of hundreds of nominations and applications based on their accomplishments, talents and drive.

The Business Journal’s June 23 print and online issues will profile PJ and the rest of the members of the 2023 Class.

Suzy Hall, President of Country Club Trust Company, has been awarded the Business Journal’s Women Who Mean Business Award 2023. Each year since 2000 the publication has honored 25 outstanding professional women who have made significant contributions to their business or industry as well as their community.

A panel of six judges selected this year’s honorees. Those chosen must be an entrepreneur leading a business, the highest-ranking woman or highest-ranking woman reporting to a female CEO, a partner leading a practice group or serving on an executive committee, or a nonprofit executive.

This year’s WWMB luncheon will be held Friday, August 18, at the Overland Park Convention Center.
