Interested in Becoming a Supporter of the Arts?

Friends of Arts is accepting applications for new members beginning in January.

The Friends of Arts Council at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is a steward of the museum. The council is made up of a diverse group of volunteers who assist the museum in recruitment for membership programs, general fundraising, member event creation, council sustainability and advocacy.

The council is looking for new volunteer members starting in January and will be holding informational sessions that will cover the application and interview process as well as goals for driving memberships and donations. For more information, please reach out to Loren Ruud, Consumer Resource Specialist, at lruud@countryclubbank.com.

Being a member offers many opportunities to interact with museum members and to form relationships within the greater Kansas City community. Council members are involved with several major museum events each year, including Bark in the Sculpture Park, the Mini Golf “Art Course” and the En Plein Air event in which local artists teach museum members the art of sketching al fresco. Enjoy some photo highlights of these events below!
