There are a variety of ways to serve this month—sign up to start making a difference in 2024!

Wayside Waifs | February 13 & March 12 | 2 pm -4 pm | 3901 Martha Truman Road, Kansas City, MO 64137
Group Volunteering projects are two hours long and include a shelter tour and service project (e.g., folding laundry, making enrichment for the animals, passing out enrichment for the animals, reading to the animals and other day-to-day tasks). If the weather permits, tasks may include outdoor projects.
Volunteer Waiver: Once sign up, please fill out the waiver as well.
Attire: Close-toed shoes required. Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty—or furry!

Lend your assistance in the donations area of the warehouse by receiving, sorting and organizing donations. We can accept up to 10 volunteers.

Join us for School Pick Up Day! Giving The Basics aims to bring improved health, hope and dignity to struggling children and adults through the procurement, fulfillment and distribution of hygiene products. Close-toed shoes and comfortable work clothing are required. Please expect to be integrated into a working warehouse/outdoor environment.
Maximum number of volunteers is six. Every volunteer must have an account and sign Giving the Basics' online waiver. You may do that here.
When you arrive, Giving the Basics staff will sign you in, give a short presentation about the agency and a quick warehouse tour, and then get you working on your assignment.
