What do you do at Country Club Bank?

As the Assistant Vice President of Digital Operations, I oversee the Digital Operations team, which strives to make it as easy and secure as possible for our clients to bank with Country Club Bank. This means we wear many hats. We manage and source various third-party relationships, we’re project managers and data analysts, and we help with anything that can improve internal and external efficiencies.

How did you get into banking?

When I graduated from college, I coached collegiate and high school lacrosse for a few years. As much as I loved the 6 a.m. practices, the cold and rainy games, and the winter and spring traveling across the Midwest, my work/life balance was difficult to maintain. As I searched for a career change, I remembered that a local bank had a branch right across from where I went to high school, so I applied for a teller job and never looked back. How could I say “no” to banker hours and holidays?

What drew you to CCB?

When I moved to Kansas in 2007, I lived close to our Prairie Village location on Mission Road. I drove past the building for years, so CCB was the first bank that came to mind when I was looking to leave my previous bank in 2018. I loved how engrained CCB was (and still is!) in the Kansas City community.

How have you been able to advance your career at CCB?

Country Club Bank has allowed me to flourish in my career, and I am grateful to everyone who has helped me develop my skills and provided me with opportunities to climb the ladder. Everyone here genuinely wants to see you succeed; that trust allows me to put my best foot forward.

What advice would you give other CCB associates about advancing within the bank?

Step out of your comfort zone and never stop learning. If you’re curious about what another department does, ask to shadow someone, ask questions about their roles, take them out to lunch and pick their brain! Having the desire to learn, being curious and taking initiative will take you farther than you expect.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

Playing sports is one of my biggest hobbies.I played collegiate and semi-professional lacrosse, and I’m still very engaged in the KC lacrosse community. I also love to play golf, sand volleyball, and boxing. It is impossible for me to sit still. Boredom is my worst enemy, so I constantly try to find new activities and new hobbies. I also love cooking, traveling, and anything music-related.

Do you belong to any community or professional organizations? If so, why are you interested in them?

I currently sit on a few boards in the Kansas City area. I am the Treasurer for the Shawnee Mission South Foundation, which supports students through scholarships, teachers through grants and the community through local projects. I am also a board member for the local semi-professional lacrosse team, the Kansas City Smoke Box Lacrosse Club. I love being a part of the Kansas City community. Being able to give back to my high school and the sport I’ve played my whole life is gratifying to me.
