The Whole Person | April 19
Several CCB associates volunteered to do yard maintenance for the elderly and individuals with disabilities through The Whole Person organization: Joe Close, PJ Thompson, Brady Forbes, Molly Amey, Ben Compton, Dallas Shepherd and Amanda Schmalz.
Heart-N-Hand Food Pantry | May 7

After receiving an overwhelming amount of donations, Heart-N-Hand needed help sorting and restocking their food pantry. Associates Cory Morton, Justin Fair, Lillian Bradley, Sandy Kessinger, David Scott, Joyce Vechnak-Sampson, Olivia Nuhn, Faith Lanning, Sherri Parsons and Sherry Collins offered their support. Heart-N-Hand helps restore hope and rebuild lives for those facing homelessness, poverty or unexpected hardships around the Belton area.
Furball | May 11
Hosted by Wayside Waifs at the Overland Park Convention Center, the annual Furball fundraiser gala raised more than $2,000,000. CCBers attending got into the spirit of the event's "Bark and Roll" theme: Marcus Scott, Margeaux Seymour, Tammi Spartz and Brady Forbes.
Pawsabilities/Inclusion Connections | May 14
CCB associates spent time with the Inclusion Connection's students at Pawsabilities, a retail program that provides meaningful jobs and independence for people with intellectual disabilities in Kansas City.
The following team members helped make dog treats, cut and braided t-shirts for pet toys, and cut and pinned fabric for bandanas: Janet Keen, Erin Porter, Janet Rickard, Heather Padelli, Angela Stewart, Kevin Miller, Serenity Boedicker, McKinley Williams, Melanie Riley, Nicholas Ohmes, Geralyn Bellus, Beka Demaranville and Sherri Parsons.
Olathe Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic | May 20
CCB sponsored a hole and the team representing CCB took first place at the Olathe Chamber of Commerce Golf Classic held at Prairie Highlands Golf Club. Team members included Andrew Ellner, Kevin Miller, Ryan Baines and Kyle Kupchin (fleet manager, Santa Fe Towing). Ellner won the closest-to-the-pin contest.
KC Hospice Circle of Lights Memorial | June 3
Volunteers Hallie Mannon, Christopher Schorgl and Stephanie Mallory set up luminaries around Mill Creek Park for Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care's annual Circle of Lights memorial event, held in remembrance for loved ones who have passed away.
10th Annual Heroes for Hospice 5K | June 5
CCB's very own Jeff Whelan was a guest on Sports Radio 810 WHB's New Day show, where he talked about the annual run and its history. Jeff is the founder and board chair of Heroes for Hospice Inc., a not-for-profit organization that raises awareness and support for hospice and palliative care, specifically benefiting those at Kansas City Hospice & Palliative Care and Midland Care Hospice of Topeka and Lawrence.
