The Giving Grove | October 14
Margeaux Seymour recently helped the Giving Grove winterize a local orchard.
The Giving Grove is on a mission to nurture neighborhoods and the environment by planting sustainable little orchards nationwide. Since its grassroots inception in Kansas City in 2013, The Giving Grove has been transforming urban spaces and combatting food insecurity through community-driven efforts.
The organization supports local volunteers in planting and maintaining fruit trees, nut trees and berry brambles. These little orchards not only provide a sustainable source of free, organically-grown food but also enhance urban green spaces, increase tree canopies and strengthen community bonds.
Today, The Giving Grove's network boasts more than 620 orchards across the U.S., from Kansas City to Seattle. These orchards are more than just sources of over 4 million servings of nutritious food annually; they are vibrant community hubs where neighbors connect and grow together. Each orchard is a testament to what communities can achieve when they come together for a common cause—ensuring that everyone has access to fresh, healthy food while fostering an environment where both nature and people can thrive.
