April VTO Opportunities

Updated: Apr 4

Eager to enjoy the spring weather? Get outside and help the community through one of our many VTO opportunities in April. Many of them involve working outdoors!

YMCA Mobile Food Pantry | April 25 | 9 am| KCKCC Tech Building 6565 State Avenue, Kansas City KS 66102

We are looking for 15 volunteers to help with the YMCA Mobile Food Pantry. This event is held on the fourth Friday of every month.

It is a very fast-paced and high-intensity event. Typical volunteer activities include the following:

  • Unloading the truck

  • Breaking down pallets

  • Culling and bagging products

  • Handing out food to families

  • Clean up

Please arrive 5-10 minutes early, so volunteering can begin promptly at 9 am. Everyone will meet in the large parking lot in front of the building where the semi-truck will be unloading pallets of food.

Please wear closed-toed shoes, your CCB volunteer shirt and clothing you don’t mind getting dirty. If you don’t have a volunteer shirt, email Marketing at marketing@countryclubbank.com with your size (unisex), and they will interoffice one to you.

The Whole Person - Planting Independence | April 25 | 927 South 7th Street, Kansas City, KS 66105

We have 15 spots available for VTO with The Whole Person's. You'll be doing yard clean up like mowing, raking, weeding and planting. We'll learn the address of our yard and time closer to the volunteer date.

The Whole Person offers services to people with disabilities to help increase their ability to perform day-to-day activities and reduce the need for support from family members, professional attendants and other care-giving services.

CCVI Trolley Run | April 25 | 3:30 – 6:30pm | 8600 Ward Parkway, Kansas City, MO 64114

If you're interested in volunteering at packet pickup, use the link below to sign up directly through CCVI.

KC Pet Project | May 9 |1:30 pm - 3:30 pm | 7077 Elmwood Avenue, Kansas City, MO 64132

We're looking for 15 volunteers to help ensure the KCPP facility is spotless inside and out, ready to meet the needs of every animal that walks through the doors! Tasks may include donation sorting, emptying trash, cleaning, weeding, and other activities that help maintain the campus—simple actions that make a huge impact in providing a nurturing space for our community's pets and the people who love them.

Metro Lutheran Ministries | May 13 | 1pm - 4pm| Location TBD

Projects could include building ramps, clearing yard brush/trash, or painting for the elderly/disabled. Plan to get dirty and work outside. All volunteers will need to wear closed-toed shoes and their CCB volunteer shirt.
